The Selector sub-label was then set up with a view to release more compilations, some of the first & finest d'n'b artist albums from the UK (4 Hero, Nookie), and to sign its own acts: London duo Phume, The Black Steele Project  (aka Subject 13), and the cream of the emerging fresh Parisian jungle scene: Darkheart, MC Otis, Little J.

Selector A&R Catherine Piault ran a bi-monthly jungle night in Paris. This regular event gave top drum'n'bass DJs from the UK the opportunity to make themselves heard on the Continent, and greatly helped to develop a local scene in France, where the traditionally strong hip-hop & ragga communities were converted en masse...
