This is the first European release for the rising, cult Californian label, whose great jazzy happy breakbeat funk ditties have already created serious damage on the dancefloors. Their sound is based on live jazz elements fused with fat hip hop breaks, and also owes something to 50's B-movie soundtracks. Mephisto have done a European licensing deal with SSR, who will soon start releasing remixes, and single-artist records by the likes of Pimp Daddy Nash, Bass Kittens, Mattski, Fluid Motion, The Mephisto Odyssey etc. Guaranteed fun for the entire family!
