"La Hafla"
ACID ARAB UNVEILS NEW SINGLE
As the band just took off for a string of dates in China and Japan, Thump/VICE premiered Acid Arab's first single off their upcoming debut album on Crammed Discs.
La Hafla ("The Party") features vocals by Algerian singer Sofiane Saidi, and was co-written with the band's live keyboard player Kenzi Bourras.
"This song", say Acid Arab, "is about a strong-minded girl who cherishes her freedom and won't take orders from anyone, including the man who is desperately in love with her, and from whose viewpoint the story is told. Musically, the track epitomizes some of the directions we're pursuing, with its North African vocals & keyboard stylings and laid-back yet dancefloor-oriented electronics".
