"A-weha"
Zenobia, the electronic music Palestinian duo, are coming back with a new track ”A-weha”, out on May 6th on Acid Arab Records/crammed Discs.
“This song is a sort of viewpoint on what is happening these days all around the world, it seems like everything is going to have to change, or to end” say Zenobia. ‘A-weha’ is an exclamation word used in traditional Palestinian wedding songs, sung by women with no music. Usually the song start with the word a-weha, followed by good wishes to the bride and groom.
Combining powerful beats, Levantine dabke rhythms and Arabic pop melodies, Zenobia’s wild live shows have made a big impression. They’ll be performing this summer 2022 at Paléo Festival (CH), Esperanzah! (BE) and Musicalarue (FR) among others.
