Konono No.1's "Congotronics" album introduced the world to the strange and spectacular electro-traditional mixtures which are being concocted in the suburbs of Kinshasa, Congo. World music, electronica and avant-rock aficionados have all been equally amazed by this otherworldly music, which has driven the international press to come up with some surprising comparisons (from Can and Krautrock to Jimi Hendrix, Lee Perry and proto-techno!...).

Special Congotronics vinyl box to include the new Konono No1 album


We will soon announce details of the limited-edition Congotronics box, which will include vinyl versions of 5 albums + plenty more goodies

The box will comprise vinyl versions of:

- Konono's debut album ("Congotronics 1"),
- Congotronics 2 ("Buzz'n'Rumble In The Urb'n'Jungle")
- The Kasai Allstars album ("In the 7th moon, the chief turned into a swimming fish...")
- The Staff Benda Bilili album ("Tres Tres Fort")
- The brand-new Konono album ("Assume Crash Position")

plus assorted goodies

Each vinyl will come in an original sleeve, and an inner sleeve of a different colour, reproducing the Congotronics wax print fabric shown on the box model above.
