"Sampler et Sans Reproche (The 1st SSR Compilation) "

Released in 1989, "Sampler et Sans Reproche" documented the first few months of frantic activity on Crammed's then-fledgling dance imprint SSR.

SSR was launched at the end of 88 with “Lick It”, the second 12” by scandalous US performance artist Karen Finley, whose debut single "Tales Of Taboo" had created a lot of noise, and got sampled by the likes of S'Express, Coldcut and more.

This prompted Crammed production duet Mr Big Mouse (none other than Vincent Kenis & Marc Hollander) to create an answer track entitled "Drop That Ghetto Blaster!", which ended up doing quite well (entering the US dance charts etc).

A flurry of releases soon followed, including twelves by Bleep, I Said Bleep, +(Positive), Syamese, which were all produced by various members of Bel Canto and their friend Per Martinsen (aka Mental Overdrive), in various combinations.

Mr Big Mouse also produced a 12" under the name Farida International, and a remix of a previously-unreleased track by Zazou Bikaye.

Sacher Musak  (produced by  Bobvan) released a couple of singles inspired by political events ("Van Den Beat" and "Gorba The Chief").

SSR's other hit during that first year was "Hallucination Generation" by The Gruesome Twosome (Samy Birnbach and Per Martinsen), a wild breakbeat track which remained a club favourite for many years.

All of these tracks were compiled into the "Sampler et Sans Reproche" album.
