One of the most imaginative artists around, Cibelle (pronounced "See-bell-ee") first came to attention as the main vocalist on the late Suba's cult São Paulo Confessions album.

Her self-titled debut album came out in 2003, and immediately established her as  the most talented and original young artist to come out of Brazil.

Building on its success and critical acclaim, her second album "The Shine of Dried Electric Leaves" incorporated a full and rich palette of instruments with captivating textural soundscapes and enchanting storytelling. It was recorded and produced by Cibelle in collaboration with coproducers Mike Lindsay (Tunng), Apollo Nove (who had produced her debut album) and Yann Arnaud (Air), and featured  duets with Seu Jorge, Spleen and Devendra Banhart (with whom Cibelle has appeared -alongside CocoRosie, Vetiver & Vashti Bunyan- at the David Byrne-curated 'Welcome To Dreamland' night at New York's Carnegie Hall).

After two EPs ("Green Grass" and "White Hair", featuring a.o. Prefuse 73, No Kids and Kwes), Cibelle released her third album, "Las Vênus Resort Palace Hotel", in which she adopted the persona of Sonja Khalecallon, a singer performing with her band Los Stroboscopious Luminous at the last cabaret at the end of the world. This postnuclear tropical rundown punk cabaret soundtrack of an album featured contributions by Josh Weller, Mocky, Sam Genders (Tunng) and Damian Taylor (Björk), who also co-produced.

2013: Cibelle pairs up with mysterious UK producer Klose for her 4th album, in which she journeys back to her electronic roots for a fascinating excursion in retrofuturist dance music, orbiting somewhere between mutant R'n'B Garage pop and an as-yet-unheard-of strain of abstract electronica overflowing with hooks.
