Playfully mixing and deconstructing various genres to create its own sonic world, the seminal band hasn’t stopped changing shape and form throughout its existence (the only permanent member being its initiator, Crammed Discs boss Marc Hollander). Aksak Maboul now revolves around Hollander & Véronique Vincent. ...
"Chez les Aborigènes", the first single off "Ex-Futur Album"...
... the avant-pop opus from 1980-83 by Véronique Vincent & Aksak Maboul
Written & recorded by Véronique Vincent (Honeymoon Killers vocalist) and Marc Hollander (Aksak Maboul & Crammed Discs founder), in collaboration with Vincent Kenis (Aksak Maboul/Congotronics), this album was announced in Crammed's early catalogues, but was never completed. It has now been assembled (and partly retrieved from demos, rough mixes and cassette tapes), and will come out in October 2014, with a slight delay of 30 years.
The single also comprises a new remix by great electronic music duet Easy & C.O.U. (who are stalwarts of the Nordic skweee scene).
